Every newborn, neonate and child at Logan Hospital on 4 August received an Indigenous-authored children’s book

In celebration of National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 2026, every newborn, neonate and child at Logan Hospital on 4 August received an Indigenous-authored children’s book, promoting early literacy while sharing stories that reflect Indigenous perspectives, culture, values and experiences.

Staff at Kingston FamilyLinQ also marked the day with a community celebration organised by Allied Health’s Siobhan Gawrych. The event brought families and the local community together for cultural activities, storytelling and shared experiences that amplified First Nations voices.

Thank you to the Division of Allied Health and Women’s and Children’s Services for your collaborative efforts in celebrating this important day.
