Name the Crane Competition winners Jackie and Braxton

More than 60 entries were received in our most recent Name the Crane competition, and after a rigorous judging process, two names have been elevated to victory!

Twelve-year-old Braxton Cain from Sunnybank claimed the school student prize with his entry Surge, while Operational Commissioning Project Officer Jacqueline Devenish took out the staff category with her creative name I Full Tower.

The winning names are now proudly displayed on the two 50-metre cranes onsite at Logan Hospital, where they will remain for the duration of the Stage 2 expansion project.

Braxton said he thought the name Surge was a fitting name for the crane because Building 4 will be a surgical building.

Jackie said her entry was inspired by the Eiffel Tower and felt the crane represented great things to come and helped LBHS maintain its focus on the individuals in the community.

The cranes were installed late last year in preparation for work on the next part of the Logan Hospital Expansion, which is now under construction.

Once complete, the project will deliver a new surgical and inpatient care building, known as Building 4.

Logan and Beaudesert Health Service Executive Director Anne Coccetti said the competition was a great way to raise awareness of the project and for the community to leave their mark on the major milestone.
