Logan Hospital has proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week, with staff and community members coming together to recognise the history, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme, 50 Years of Deadly, celebrated five decades of NAIDOC Week. It honoured the Elders, leaders, activists and communities whose strength and determination have helped create positive change for First Nations peoples.

Acting Executive Director Dr Dale Seierup said NAIDOC Week was an important opportunity to celebrate the progress being made towards health equity across Logan and Beaudesert Health Service.

“As we continue to deliver sustainable, culturally safe and responsive healthcare services, we are privileged to partner with First Nations peoples, communities and organisations to improve health outcomes,” he said.

“NAIDOC Week also reminds us that creating a more equitable and inclusive health service is a shared responsibility. I encourage everyone to reflect on how their work can contribute to better health outcomes for First Nations peoples.”
