Beaudesert Hospital is getting ready to once again bring the ‘Beauy’ spirit to the Beaudesert Show, with the team set to showcase the hospital on 4 - 5 September.
After last year’s epic effort celebrating Beaudesert Hospital’s 125-year milestone, the team has been working hard to come up with another stall that will encourage visitors to stop by, have some fun and learn more about the people and services behind their local hospital.
With plenty of interactive activities, demonstrations and opportunities to chat with staff, there will be something for people of all ages.
Visitors can try their hand at basic CPR using mannequins, test their skills at ‘Shakey Surgery’ or learn what to do in the event of a snake bite.
There will also be opportunities to see how telehealth can make accessing healthcare from home easier, while a range of resources will be available to help community members learn more about Advance Care Planning, My Aged Care and Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD).
The stall will also shine a light on the many ways the community can connect with and support Beaudesert Hospital, including volunteering with the new Kindness Krew and getting involved in initiatives such as the Bravery Bee Project.
A First Nations showcase will celebrate local culture, while the team will also be celebrating the achievements of Beaudesert Hospital staff and the important role they play in caring for the Scenic Rim community.
And, of course, there will be a few surprises along the way, including a giant crocheted rainbow snake up for grabs.
The Beauy team is looking forward to welcoming the community to the stall and showing off what makes the hospital amazing. So, if you’re heading along to the Beaudesert Show, make sure you stop by and say g’day to the team!
