Logan and Beaudesert Health Service has expanded its Clinical Supervision program, training a new group of Clinical Supervision Supervisors in partnership with Community and Oral Health.
The initiative builds on a program first introduced at Logan and Beaudesert two years ago, which is now gaining strong momentum across the organisation.
Clinical supervision provides nurses and midwives with a confidential and supportive space to reflect on their practice. The process strengthens clinical capability, builds confidence and supports wellbeing, while helping ensure safe and consistent care across all settings.
The expansion supports both the Nursing and Midwifery Strategic Plan and the Workforce Strategic Plan, which aim to build a responsive and valued workforce where staff feel supported, psychologically safe and connected to the values of care and compassion.
The program has grown through strong leadership and ongoing commitment across the service.
Paula Cunliffe, Queensland’s first Clinical Supervision Coordinator, has led the initiative since the role was established two years ago. With the support of Executive Sponsor Jacquie Smith, who has championed clinical supervision across Metro South Health for more than eight years, the program is continuing to expand and connect with clinical supervision experts across the state.
As more supervisors complete their training, Logan and Beaudesert Health Service is embedding clinical supervision into everyday practice, creating more opportunities for reflection, support and professional growth for nurses and midwives.
The expansion also reflects the strength of partnerships across the health service, including collaboration with Community and Oral Health to support the continued growth of the program.
