The Logan and Beaudesert Health Symposium has wrapped up for another year

A vibrant showcase of research has been celebrated at the Logan and Beaudesert Health Service 2026 Research Symposium, recognising staff for their passion, innovation and commitment to improving care for patients and the community.

This year’s theme, “Beyond Boundaries: Innovating for Better Health”, reflected the spirit of research at LBHS, breaking barriers, expanding horizons and translating ideas into meaningful improvements in health care. The program showcased a diverse range of oral and poster presentations across safety and quality improvement, chronic disease and vulnerable populations, digital health, artificial intelligence and new models of care.

The event was well attended by staff, partners and supporters, and provided an opportunity to celebrate the growing research culture across our hospitals and services.

The symposium also featured keynote speaker Professor Steven McPhail from QUT, who spoke about the advances in Digital Health and AI Transformation and Sustainment in Real World Care.

Acting Director Medical Services Dr Felicity Jensen said the symposium was a celebration of the stellar research achievements of Logan and Beaudesert staff.

“The evolution of research at Logan Beaudesert continues to track alongside the directorate expansion. It is fitting that world-class research and innovation continues to flourish across the facilities,” she said.

LBHS Research Coordinator Dr Genevieve Kinna thanked everyone who presented, attended and contributed to making this year’s Research Symposium a success.

"A special thank you also goes to our sponsors QSuper, RemServ, Queensland University of Technology, Griffith University, University of Southern Queensland and MSH SERTA for their support."
