Just days before his big around-the-world trip Santa Claus has stopped by Logan Hospital's neonatal unit, spreading festive cheer among its tiniest and most vulnerable patients.
Despite his jam-packed schedule, the big man in red made a special journey from the North Pole to visit (and snap some keepsake photos with) the families of 2N helping them celebrate their bubs' first-ever Christmas.
This is the second year families on the ward have been visited by Santa, with Registered Nurse Anne-Marie Noble and Consumer Partner Chantal working together on the heartwarming initiative.
As with last year, Santa's visit brought the magic of Christmas right to the cots of precious babies who will either spend their first Christmas in hospital or who are too delicate to venture out to meet a shopping centre Santa.
Nurse Unit Manager Katharine Lawlor said Santa's visit was truly the gift of Christmas and a tradition the team was proud to offer.
"Seeing the joy and smiles on the faces of these families is the best present we could ever ask for,” she said.
Local photographer Kylie Williams once again donated her time and talent to bring the magic of Christmas to life and capture the special milestones for local families.
“We can’t thank Kylie enough for her generosity and creativity,” Kath said. “She’s truly sprinkled some Christmas magic into every photo. And of course, we’re incredibly grateful to Santa for squeezing us into his busiest time of year - we know he has a long ‘nice list’ to check twice!”
