Staff from across Queensland have gathered in Metro South for a statewide planning day focused on Crisis Support Spaces and shared learnings.

MSAMHS hosted the Ethos and Model of Care, Quality Improvement Implementation Group at Garden City Office Park in February, marking the first time a Hospital and Health Service has convened this statewide forum.

Project Officer Adam Caldwell-Cook said representatives attended from Cairns to the Gold Coast, reflecting strong system-wide commitment to collaboration and shared learning.

“The intent of the forum was to build consensus and alignment across several priority initiatives,” he said.

“Key areas of focus included developing shared language, defining what good care looks like within the first ninety minutes of presentation to a Crisis Support Space, and strengthening a shared lens of peer-led, clinician-supported practice.

“This approach recognises the unique value of lived and living experience alongside clinical expertise, reinforcing that high-quality care emerges when both perspectives are integrated, respected, and actively working together. “

Attendees also visited the Logan Crisis Support Space to see the model in practice and to ground discussions in lived operational experience.

Upon returning to Garden City Office Park, the group was welcomed by MSAMHS Executive Director Kieran Kinsella, who reinforced the importance of Crisis Support Spaces and the meaningful impact they have for the community.

Well done to everyone involved in this day which showcased MSAMHS and the Logan Crisis Support Space across Queensland.
