A lavender haze came over our facilities recently as our people donned purple to show support for LGBTQIA+ youth.
A colourful pop-up stall at Logan Hospital brought together the Pride@MSH Staff Network, the Youth Advisory Council and Child and Youth Mental Health Services to support the Wear It Purple Day campaign.
Wear It Purple Day celebrates and recognises queer young people, while highlighting the importance of creating safe and inclusive environments where everyone can feel valued, respected and supported.
Service Line Director Emergency and Clinical Support, and Chair of the Pride@MSH Staff Network, Jane Mclean was the driving force behind the hospital's involvement.
She said the strong turnout showed the importance of creating opportunities for people to come together and show their support.
"Speaking up against discrimination can make a big difference as well as creating safe and inclusive spaces and others showing visible support and allyship."
