Celebrating 125 Years of Beaudesert Hospital
Duration: 2:33

High teas, VIP guests, former and current staff, historical bits and pieces and even our furry friends from Mountview Alpaca Farm. All made for not one, but two special celebrations to mark the 125th birthday of Beaudesert Hospital.

From its very humble beginnings as a four room, eight bed cottage in 1900, to the facility it is today - providing high quality emergency, maternity, surgical, medical and palliative care as the main health centre for the Scenic Rim region, Beaudesert Hospital has come a long way.

Our 28-bed rural hospital saw 17,772 presentations to the emergency department last financial year, birthed 293 babies and performed 197 surgical procedures.

Facility Manager Marg Wendt said this year marked an exciting milestone for "Beauy", all the staff who had called it home and those who continued to serve the local community today.

"We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us and are very excited to see what the future will bring for our hospital and community," she said.

"We thank all our staff, our community partners and the Beaudesert community who trust us to be a part of their most vulnerable, difficult and joyous times of their lives."

HAPPY 125th BIRTHDAY BEAUY!
