Operational Services Officer Shree Adhikari has received a Bayside Health Service Our Values Staff Award after 16 years of dedicated service to Redland Hospital.
Assistant Director of Nursing, Medicine and Emergency Nursing Penny Wright nominated Shree for demonstrating all six Metro South Health Values: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Engagement and Excellence.
“I feel proud that my work contributes to the hospital and the community,” Shree said. “Whatever the job, big or small, I respect it and try to do it well.”
Shree migrated from Nepal with his wife in 2009 and joined Redland Hospital’s Operational Services team the following year.
A former high school science and mathematics teacher, Shree grew up helping his family on their farm and studying at night by kerosene lamp.
He now lives in Dutton Park with his wife and three children but continues to travel to Redland Hospital each day because of the strong connection he feels to his team.
“This feels like home. I know my team, everyone says hello and there is respect,” he said.
Thankfully, Shree's family in Nepal were not impacted by the recent, tragic flash floods. However, donations can be made via the Australian Red Cross Global Emergency Fund if you would like to support the recovery efforts.
