Medical interns hit the ground running

Bayside Health Service has welcomed 15 new medical interns to Redland Hospital.

Medical Education Officer Mita Parmar said it was exciting to see more interns choosing Bayside Health Service.

“Two years ago, we had five interns," she said. "To grow to 15 interns in such a short time is something we’re really proud of.

“Several of our interns have chosen Bayside because they trained here as medical students and enjoyed the experience.

“The strong sense of community, approachable supervisors, and the way our teams work together is a drawcard.”

Interns will complete a generalist program across a range of clinical settings, aligned with the national internship framework and Australian Medical Council requirements.

“This program gives interns broad exposure and strong foundations for their future medical careers, while supporting high-quality care for our local community,” she said.
