We provide research development services, including:
- Creating high-quality research proposals, grant applications, and research protocols to get ethical clearance and research governance approval
- Forming research partnerships and negotiating research contracts
- Finding and promoting key funding opportunities
- Helping with funding applications, especially for investigator-led projects
Our goal is to build and enhance research capacity and capability across the organisation
Supporting research at all career stages
We help researchers at all career stages (novice, early-career, mid-career, experienced) with:
- Developing research-related documents, such as grant applications, research proposals, and research protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with the National Statement on the Ethical Conduct of Research (2023), legislation, Metro South Health policies and procedures, and relevant standards.
Building research partnerships
We work with MSH researchers, academics, and professionals to support multidisciplinary research and partnerships by:
- Helping to identify, develop, and execute research partnerships, especially for investigator-led projects.
- Leading contract negotiations and discussions with external clients, legal services, procurement, and academic leaders to set up research projects.
- Managing the entire research contract process, including negotiation and execution with government agencies, private companies, universities, sponsors, and other research institutions.

Research facilitation and capability services are also available at Logan and Beaudesert Health Service, QEII Jubilee Hospital, Bayside Health Service, Community and Oral Health Services, and Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services.
