The 65th Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) Health Symposium will be a three-day event that brings together Queensland Health staff and our partner research institutes.

This year’s program will include:

- ‘hot topic’ panel discussions
- research presentation awards.

Keynote speaker
Dr Colin Kennedy
Opening session
Dr Colin Kennedy is Chief Growth Officer at Creative HQ and Founder of its School of Innovation. He has spent more than 25 years helping people, organisations and systems build the capability to turn ideas into impact.
Colin has worked closely with Metro South Health to strengthen health innovation capability and support practical innovation across complex healthcare settings. He has also contributed to the development of innovation practice through Metro North Health’s Helix Hub. His wider work also spans education and public-sector transformation, including Asian Development Bank programmes across Southeast Asia and UNDP-backed innovation hub work in the Pacific.
A published researcher and global speaker, including at Expo 2020 Dubai, Colin works at the intersection of innovation, equity and practical change. His focus is on helping individuals and organisations build the conditions where good ideas can move beyond pilots and into better outcomes for better humans.

Awards
The symposium is an opportunity to celebrate the outstanding research and education undertaken in Metro South Health and our partner institutes.
Research presentation awards
We showcase the next generation of clinical and laboratory researchers. Award categories include:
- clinical and health care research
- laboratory research.
There are awards for student, early-career, and experienced researchers. When abstracts are submitted, authors are asked to nominate for one or both of:
- oral presentation – a 4-minute ‘lightning talk’ presentation with 1 minute for questions
- poster presentation – a poster display with a 1-minute ‘elevator pitch’.

Clinical education excellence awards
We recognise outstanding clinical educators at Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Nominate a colleague for one of this year's clinical education excellence awards. Winners will receive a $1,000 professional development bursary at the PAH Health Symposium.
