QEII long stay patients and those facing an unexpected overnight stay will benefit from 200 hygiene packs donated by The Rotary Club of Toohey this month.
The packs that contain necessities like shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, dental care supplies, body moisturiser and more, are personally delivered to campus by the club’s Board members every three to four months.
Volunteer Coordinator Amanda Spann said the donations mean a lot to patients who might otherwise be without their basic hygiene and comfort items.
"It's such a wonderful initiative that helps lessen the mental burden for patients so they can focus on getting well while they are here with us."
Speaking on behalf of Rotary Club of Toohey, Myles Waugh said the club is pleased to be able to support QEII and members of the community facing unplanned admissions.
"We’re glad to do our bit to help out and be a part of the QEII Community. If we can help make a person's life just that little bit easier when they find themselves in hospital, it's well worth it."
