Operational Services Officer Justine Ryan
Operational Services Officer, Justine Ryan is being recognised with a Values Award for going above and beyond to keep QEII Hospital spotless for staff and patients.
Justine has been an integral part of the Operational Services Team at QEII for two years.
She's known throughout the hospital for her work ethic and high standards for cleanliness and patient care.
"If you're going to do it, you may as well do it properly," Justine said.
"I put myself in their position and if that was me, I would want to be in a clean environment."
You can usually find Justine in ward 3A palliative care, where she works tirelessly to maintain a dignified environment for patients.
Her role isn't only about cleaning, she also performs patient handling and support tasks that are vital for excellent patient care.
"Sometimes patients are distressed, and I just try to be patient, talk to them and take their mind off things," she said.
Justine is well respected by staff and patients for her attention to detail and dedication to her work.
She believes every staff member has an important role to play in creating the best patient experience and work environment at QEII.
"We all need to work hard as a team to take care of patients and our hospital," she said.
"Accountability and integrity are very important."
