QEII celebrates IND 2025

Smiles, flowers, and fun bloomed at QEII this International Nurses Day, as staff and special guests gathered on May 12 to acknowledge and honour its diverse nursing team.

Caring for our nurses was the theme of the day, as nurses were showered with honorary treats, door prizes, homegrown sunflower sprouts, and priceless cuddles with furry friends.

The anticipated 2025 IND Awards Ceremony brought staff together from all corners of QEII to celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and teams leading by example, as well as honouring those whose dedication spans decades with the Length of Service Nursing Awards and numerous special mentions to some well-deserving recipients.

In a heartwarming introduction, Nursing Director Surgical Services Sarah Stormborn captured the essence of QEII nursing and its daily ethos written in compassionate, patient-centred care.

“Exceptional care goes beyond the tasks you perform each day, to the exceptional care provided at your patients’ bedside. Being there for them when they are at their lowest point, advocating for their needs, and doing all of this with a smile on your faces,” she said.

“The positivity, comradery and spirit of QEII Nursing Services is inspirational and enduring. Thank you to all nurses and lovers of nurses on this special day in our professional calendar, on behalf of everyone whose life you touch.”

A special thanks to all involved in coordinating the day’s activities, and a big congratulations to QEII’s 2025 IND Award Winners:
