Dogs of all shapes and sizes made a special appearance at the PA Hospital, as part of a unique wellness program spreading happiness and head pats across the wards.
The ‘Paws the Pressure’ initiative run by Delta Therapy Dogs with the help of the PAH Nursing Team is designed to reduce stress and boost morale, ensuring no one has a ruff day.
The four-legged friends visited several areas across the hospital including the Intensive Care Unit (in a non-clinical room), which Nurse Unit Manager Lynne Morris said was a wonderful experience for all.
“It’s been absolutely brilliant. I actually took a photo of one of our staff walking down the corridor after she’d seen a dog, and just the smile on her face was priceless.
“It lifts their whole day. They see lots of upsetting things, so this is incredibly uplifting, it’s great,” she said.
Let’s give a round of a-paws to all the Delta volunteers and their cuddly companions!
