88 junior doctors have joined the ranks at PA Hospital in the largest cohort of medical interns across Metro South for 2025.
The enthusiastic and passionate interns will receive world-class training over the 12-month program, gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
They’ll embark on speciality rotations in different medical fields including general and emergency medicine, surgery, and mental health to set them up for a successful career in medicine.
For Dr Archlia Lin, the first week was an opportunity to reflect on how a love of science at a young age inspired a dream career that’s now becoming reality.
“I knew I wanted to do medicine when I was around 7 years old, so it’s been a long time coming,” she said.
“I think PA Hospital comes with a lot of surgical specialties which it’s well-known for, and considering I want to go down the surgical speciality I thought this was the best way to do it.
“It’s also a large cohort so you get to know a lot of people who you’ll probably be working with down the line.
“When they said it’s a lifelong journey they really weren’t kidding, and I have a lot to look forward to!”
Dr Lin’s story is just one of the many tales of anticipation, excitement, and commitment to excellence, which will ultimately fuel this year’s cohort throughout their careers.
PA Hospital is proud to offer a world-class internship program and looks forward to nurturing the next generation of doctors to provide the best possible care to Queenslanders.
