The two-man Safety and Response team at PA Hospital’s Burke St Centre is being applauded for their ability to go beyond the call of duty to support the clinical teams at the dynamic outpatient facility.
Steven and Jayden, who assist the six diverse teams who call the centre home, say the collegial relationships within the Burke Street Centre foster a community spirit where everyone knows everyone and is willing to go above and beyond for their fellow teams.
“We work really closely with managers across the teams and considering the high patient attendance - and the limited parking, we have coordinated to maximise the parking to reduce the impact on the clinics,” said Jayden.
Nominated for their ability to offer administrative support when needed for the ultimate benefit of the smooth running of the facility, Jayden said the customer service angle is an integral part of this Safety and Response role.
“There are many parts of the job outside of surveillance and parking. I really enjoy meeting patients and understanding what they are going through,” Steven said.
“Home dialysis training patients come in multiple days and they are really going through it with their diagnosis and what dialysis means for their life. We offer a personalised service so that they familiarise with the centre and where they are going to reduce that stress on them.
“I can absolutely say we love our job and doing life alongside the teams here.”
Congratulations to Jayden and Steven who received the PAH Staff Award for February.
