This Operational Services Recognition Week (6-10 October), PA Hospital is celebrating the multidisciplinary team working behind the scenes to keep the hospital running smoothly, safely, and with heart.
Behind the frontlines at PA is a diverse and dedicated team of Operational Services team members. From Porterage to Environmental Services, and from Food Services to Theatre Assistants, these quiet achievers leave an impact across every ward, corridor, and patient interaction across the hospital.
Whether it’s assisting patients with mobility and transport, maintaining strict infection control standards, preparing nutritious meals, or ensuring a safe and secure environment, Operational Services staff are essential to delivering high-quality care.
A/Director Operational Services Russell Roberts (pictured left) has thrived at PAH for 29 years. He spent the last 14 as a manager, where he oversees more than 200 staff across the Environmental Services and Grounds & Gardens departments.
“I am very proud to be a part of the Operational Services team at PAH and also proud of the diverse workgroup who are Operational Services,” he said.
“Every day, their work contributes to positive patient outcomes, by maintaining everything around direct care that supports their wellbeing, comfort and safety.”
To celebrate the incalculable contributions of operational staff across the hospital, Russell coordinated a series of Operational Services appreciation activities to run throughout the week.
“Operational Services contribute daily to positive patient outcomes. Our work creates a healthy environment, supports recovery, improves efficiency, and maintains PAH’s reputation for high standards of care,” Russell said.
PAH is proud to employ nearly 700 Operational Services team members, and we thank every one of you for your dedication, teamwork, and the vital role you play in patient care every day.
