PA Hospital's Clinical Deputy Director of Pharmacy, Scott Mitchell has been advancing leadership training and creating advanced roles for the Clinical Assistant Stream, earning him a coveted win for the PAH Staff Award in June.
Scott has been instrumental in restructuring the current workforce and building training modules to nurture management and leadership skills within the clinical assistant team.
“Career progression for Pharmacy Clinical Assistants has never been more exciting. Pharmacy Assistants represent a highly skilled workforce, providing operational and clinical support for pharmacists,” he said.
“Our pharmacy team has created a dedicated Clinical Assistant Taskforce. We have been able to develop these new roles through engagement and collaboration with experienced clinical assistants and pharmacists,” he said. “Our highly motivated and dedicated team are passionate in developing our workforce to improve all aspects of patient care.”
His commitment to workforce development doesn’t stop there as he has been an active driver in recent Metro South career’s fair events – truly rallying the troops to celebrate allied health professions and making the Metro South Health stand an engaging must-visit destination.
Scott’s nomination and his commitment to the motivated team highlights his fantastic work but it is it is his valued clinical leadership that has distinguished him amongst his peers and the many pharmacists he mentors.
