Metro South Health A/Supply Chain Manager, Max Kennedy is passionate about keeping things moving.
Working steadily behind the scenes, Max’s wealth of experience in supply coordination, management and project work over the past three years has contributed to timely supply chain solutions throughout Metro South and Queensland Health.
In his substantive role, Max works as QEII Hospital's Supply Coordinator, where he manages service delivery and oversees the hospital's Imprest team.
After nine weeks supporting supply chain establishment for North West HHS at Mt Isa, where he supported operations, led process improvement and implemented new barcoding and MRP uplift initiatives to support easier and more consistent replenishment of clinical items.
“I was proud to work in partnership with Metro North and Supply Chain Branch to deliver the Supply Online Solution, an innovative new ordering system designed for remote clinicians and smaller sites who may not have onsite Supply Chain staff,” Max explained.
Max returned to Brisbane this August, where he is embracing his next challenge as A/Supply Chain Manager for Metro South Health.
“Every day is a new challenge, and it takes me all over Metro South,” he said.
“I’m excited to continue to grow my skills and learn. I enjoy meeting with and engaging our broader stakeholders and teams onsite to learn what they need from Supply and how we can enhance service delivery.”
When a global cyberattack resulted in major supply chain disruptions for a key supplier, Max took charge of coordinating recovery efforts between Nurse Unit Managers, supply teams and supplier representatives.
His exemplary leadership and problem-solving skills united stakeholders, while ensuring supply continuity across Metro South Health during one of its most challenging times.
A more sustainable and efficient supply chain is on the agenda for Max, as he looks forward to optimising supply chain solutions across the Metro South network.
“Our shared goal for the future is to be the leading Supply Chain team in the state, with a focus on stock being on time and at the right amount. We are constantly looking for ways to drive continuous improvement across our function and engage with our clinicians to provide timely Imprest reviews and support to manage their ongoing consumables usage.”
