Love was in the air across Logan Hospital this Valentine’s Day, with our teams going above and beyond to create special moments with patients and families.
On Ward 2N, the neonatal team spread love by creating special gifts for every family.
Each parent received a precious keepsake of their child’s tiny footprints printed onto a Valentine’s Day note.
For parents like Kristy Colhoun, who was spending the romantic day in hospital, the gesture brought a bright, joyful moment.
Valentine’s Day holds special meaning for Kristy and her partner, who began dating on February 14, were married on the same date, and spent their most recent anniversary in the unit.
Kristy said she was looking forward to taking her beautiful bub Zander home after the weekend.
Meanwhile on Ward 2M, patients woke up to handmade Valentine’s Day cards lovingly crafted by their nursing team.
They also helped patients create their own cards to give to loved ones during visits, spreading joy beyond the ward. Some team members even donned special Valentine’s-themed scrubs, adding colour, warmth, and plenty of heart to the day.
Nurse Unit Manager Sheena Varghese said her team simply wanted to make patients feel extra special. We think they've done exactly that!
