Logan’s skyline is continuing to transform with construction underway on Logan Hospital’s second multi-level car park.
The new, eight-level car park is expected to follow in the artistic footsteps of the first campus car park and become another local landmark thanks to its unique façade design featuring three Glossy Black Cockatoos in flight.
Situated on the south-west corner of the TAFE site adjacent to Logan Hospital, construction on the car park is progressing with the concrete lift and stair wells now standing tall.
Once complete, the $215.6 million car park, being delivered as part of the Queensland Government’s Hospital Rescue Plan, will provide more than 1000 spaces, significantly increasing safe, undercover parking availability for patients, visitors and staff.
Logan and Beaudesert Health Service Executive Director Maree Pane said the addition of a second multi-level car park would make it easier for people to access care at the hospital.
“When the project is complete, more than 3000 car parks will be available across the Logan Hospital campus, boosting car parking capacity to support the opening of expanded services and Building 4 which is currently under construction,” she said.
“A new pedestrian linkway from the new car park will also provide safe and easy access directly into the hospital.”
Ms Pane said she was excited to see how the community would respond to the artwork on the new car park following the success of the first multi-level car park’s Logan Banksia design.
She said like the Banksia, the Glossy Black Cockatoo was a species native to the Logan region.
“Our staff are incredibly proud of this community, and we are delighted that our hospital features artworks that celebrate Logan’s unique natural environment and strengthens our connection connections to place.
“The façade artworks make each car park very easily identifiable which also helps patients and visitors find their way across the campus.”
Once complete, the new multi-level car park and Logan Hospital Expansion Project will deliver increased capacity and improved access to care for the growing Logan community.
The car park will be owned and operated by the Queensland Government and will adopt the same parking fees currently in place at Logan Hospital. It is expected to open in the first half of 2028.
