Vibrant lion dancers took over the entrance to Logan Hospital last week to celebrate Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Horse.
Staff, patients and visitors gathered to watch the performance, designed to bring luck and drive away negative energy for the year ahead.
The hospital’s all-new Culture Committee led the event, the first of many initiatives this year focused on celebrating our people and creating connection.
Culture Committee Executive Sponsor Jacquie Smith said the event was an opportunity to raise awareness, honour cultural diversity, and bring teams together.
“The horse symbolises strength, resilience, energy and progress - qualities that beautifully reflect the culture we strive to build for our people, our patients, and our communities,” she said.
“We thank everyone for joining in the celebrations. It was wonderful to see our hospital community come together to share in the joy, colour red and meaning of this special occasion as we move into the year ahead with unity, compassion and determination.”
