The new Logan Hospital Precinct Police Beat has officially opened, following six years of dedicated partnership between the hospital and the Queensland Police Service (QPS).
Metro South Health Chief Executive Noelle Cridland said the partnership began in early 2020 with a three-month trial of the Logan Police Liaison Service.
“That initial three-month trial was extended to six months and beyond, and today we celebrate the opening of the newly located Police Beat,” she said.
Noelle thanked the QPS for their ongoing support at the hospital.
“Your presence has made a real difference in supporting the safety of our clinical and operational staff, as well as our patients, families and visitors,” she said.
Noelle also thanked Nursing Director Emergency and Clinical Support Services, Kathy Flanigan, for her advocacy and perseverance in securing an established police presence at the hospital.
The opening of the Beat comes just in time for Kathy to celebrate before she retires next month!
