If there’s two things our Logan teams love, it’s an excuse to dress up and a celebratory cake!
Thankfully, the past few weeks have provided plenty of both, with our hardworking teams getting behind awareness weeks, fundraising campaigns and important milestones across the campus.
Logan’s Acute Cognitive Unit (ACU) Ward 6B celebrated its first birthday, marking a year of tremendous achievements, growth and dedication from the team.
On Ward 3D, nursing staff, allied health professionals and Stroke Consultant Dr Lau donned their best superhero gear for National Stroke Week 2026. The theme, ‘Be a F.A.S.T hero – not all superheroes wear capes!’, was a great reminder that recognising the signs of a stroke and acting quickly can save someone’s life.
Our Emergency Department (ED) team also got into the fundraising spirit, swapping scrubs for their best flannel shirts for ‘Flanno for a Farmer’, a fundraiser supporting Aussie farmers.
Celebrations continued in our Children’s Inpatient Unit, where staff brought their favourite book characters to life for their very own Book Week Parade. Our little patients, many of whom were unable to participate in kindy or school Book Week Parades, were overjoyed to see The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a Minion, the Three Little Pigs and other familiar characters parading past their hospital beds.
The patients even got to vote for their favourite, making the parade a special celebration they could be part of too.
It’s lovely to see our teams take a brief pause from their busy days to have a little fun while brightening up the hospital.
