Bayside Health Service's Medical Education Unit recently presented its annual Best and Fairest Awards for 2025, recognising the contributions of junior doctors and senior medical staff at Redland Hospital.

Congratulations to Dr Madison Daniels who was awarded the 2025 Rising Star Award for Interns.

Deputy Director Medical Services Dr Lorraine Westacott said Unit Directors and Staff Specialists were invited to nominate interns who spent their entire year at Redland Hospital.

“This year, given the larger cohort, there were multiple nominations reflecting the high standard of our current intern cohort,” she said.

“Madison is organised, efficient, dependable and mature in her decision making. She is professional, has great medical knowledge and communication and is described as performing well above level.”

Other awards included:

  • Best and Fairest PHO/Registrar, Dr Harris Nikwan
  • Best and Fairest House Officer, Dr Jedd Raidan
  • Rising Star Award, Dr Madison Daniels
  • Clinical Supervisor Award, Dr Rebecca Adams

The awards followed the “See Me. Hear Me. Respect Me. Introduction to disability aware and capable health care Grand Rounds" presentation by Troy Hakala. Congratulations to all nominees and winners for their hard work and commitment to the Redland Hospital team.
