Local school students brought smiles to the faces of Redland Hospital’s youngest patients with the delivery of bundles of gifts and books for patients in Lamb Ward this week.
Star of the Sea students Annabelle and Harper, along with their siblings, sold homemade lemonade to contribute funds towards their book donation.
Ormiston College students created beautifully wrapped gift baskets for mothers with babies in the Neonatal and Maternity Inpatient Units, as well as a special basket of treats to thank nursing and midwifery staff for the care they provide.
Lamb Ward Nurse Unit Manager Aleria Harold said the generous donations also included baby wipes and sanitary products, which have been shared with the hospital’s social work team to support families who may need a little extra help.
“The thoughtful gifts will make a real difference to local families, particularly those experiencing a stressful or unexpected stay in hospital,” she said.
A very big thank you to both school communities for their kindness, generosity and care for the Bayside community!
