After almost four years growing his hair, Administration Officer Jack Chiverall is preparing to lose his locks for a good cause - the World’s Greatest Shave.
“If I was going to cut it, I figured I should do it for charity,” Jack said.
After almost five years working at QEII and Redland hospitals in outpatients, medical records and across the wards, Jack said he was motivated to take on the challenge.
“Every day when I work here, you see people going through different things,” he said. “Working in hospitals makes me reflect on my role and what I can do.”
On 21 November, Jack will head to his local barber and say goodbye to his luscious locks after raising much needed funds for the Leukaemia Foundation.
He has already raised around $500, but has his sights set on an ambitious $10,000 target.
“I know it’s a high goal, but if we make it, that would be amazing,” Jack said. “Any amount of money would be a great help. It’s for a good cause.”
Staff can get behind Jack by donating to his World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser.
