Safety and Response Officer Daniel De Carli has won Bayside Health Service’s latest Our Values Staff Award for his work keeping patients, visitors, and staff safe at the Marie Rose Centre on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island).
Director of Nursing and Midwifery Amanda Garner said Daniel's calm presence helped patients and staff every day.
“Daniel builds trust quickly. People know a familiar face is there to help, and that makes a real difference,” she said.
His outstanding dedication and calm leadership was exemplified during TC Alfred.
“Daniel has been known to do everything from monitor weather updates to assisting to transport staff in severe weather.
“His calm presence and exceptional ability to diffuse tense situations with empathy and professionalism has a significance impact on the team.”
Chosen from 11 individuals and one team, Daniel was recognised for his work during TC Alfred and more recently for partnering with nursing teams to reduce aggressive incidents.
Executive Director Greg Nolan said the awards celebrated staff who brought Metro South Health’s values to life.
“Daniel’s commitment shows how a single person can shape a safe, welcoming environment,” he said. “I also congratulate our other nominees whose everyday actions set the standard for patient-centred care.”
